Virus Name: Troj.BankAsh.J

Aliases: Troj/BankAsh-J

BankAsh is a Trojan Horse that targets Microsoft Windows computers to steal information from and download programs onto.  It searches the infected computer's hard drive for e-mail addresses and passwords, and logs them in several log files stored in the Windows folder.  These log files include: email.log, html.log, pass.log, and req.log.  These log files are then uploaded to a remote FTP site.  Next, more software is then downloaded and installed from the same FTP site.

BankAsh also tries to conceal itself by answering firewall-warning messages before the infected user can see them.  As well, it registers itself as both a legitimate COM object, and as a Browser Helper Object (BHO) for Internet Explorer.
