Toronto International Film Festival:

Cannes Film Festival

The Toronto International Film Festival is the premiere pre-eminent film festival for North America, and second only on the world stage to the Cannes Film Festival.  TIFF often marks the North American debut of many mainstream Hollywood movies.  Often those movies premiering here are Oscar hopefuls, and the buzz about town can make or break future deals.

TIFF

During the Toronto International Film Festival, many Hollywood blockbusters bow in theatres across Toronto.  But TIFF also successfully showcases many smaller, artsy independent foreign movies too.  For ten days in early September, Toronto, Ontario, Canada is the place to be.  Hollywood celebs looking to promote their latest work or secure their next picture deal can be seen around town in all the trendy hot-spots and at all the hottest private parties.  And any paparazzi worth posing for will be following right behind documenting their every step and stumble.

For ten days, the world will hold its breath waiting to see what comes next from the Hollywood machine.  And every Hollywood gossip magazine, show, and web site will report every minute of the Toronto International Film Festival to the breathless masses.
